The Villa

As a child, Annina Silj used to play in her garden and among the ruins of the imperial Villa di Livia, now under the aegis of the Archeological Ministry. Villa Anson Silj is part of those same ancient lands, shaped first by the Etruscans and then by Livia Drusilla, who brought it as dowry for her marriage to Augustus, first emperor of Rome. This estate, at Prima Porta (the first gate of Rome)  has witnessed some world shaping events; in the 19th century it was purchased by the Marchesi Silj di Sant’Andrea di Ussita. Its uniqueness is given by its history, geographic location, its cultural activities – kept alive by Bernard and Eleonora – express a magic, which can be witnessed in the gardens and the houses, which have retained the atmosphere of a home.
